The correct option is D 232
From the equation of damped oscillations, we know that,
Amplitude of damped oscillations (A)=A0eγt
As A=A04 at t=1 min, we get
A04=A0eγ or eγ=4 .......(1)
After 16 min, the amplitude will be A0x
A0x=A0e16γ
x=e16γ=(eγ)16
Using (1) in the above equation, we get
x=(4)16x=232
Thus, option (d) is the correct answer.
