Let,
1a=A cos θ ...(ii)

1b=A sin θ ..(iii)

y=A cos θ sinωt±A sin θ cosωt

y=A sin (ωt±θ)

Squaring and adding Eqs. (ii) and (iii):
A2 cos2 θ+A2 sin2 θ=1a+1b
