Angular velocity is increased from 100 rpm to 400 rpm in Δt=5 min
Radius of circular path is r=50 cm=0.50 m

Then, angular acceleration α=ΔωΔt
α=ω2ω1Δt=4001005
α=60 rpm/min
α=60×2π rad(60)2 s2=2π60 rad/s2
Hence, tangential acceleration is given by:
at=α×r
at=2π60×0.50=π60 m/s2
