Compressibility=1K
where, K= bulk modulus
Bulk modulus,
K=ΔP(ΔVV)
Fractional compressionΔVV=PK ...(i)
ve sign represents decrease in volume due to compression.

ΔP=ρgd is the pressure at the bottom of the ocean
ρ=1000 kg/m3 is density of water
g=10 m/s2
d=2700 m is the depth of ocean
K=150×1011 Pa

From Eq. (i),
ΔVV=ΔPK=ρgdK

ΔVV=103×10×2700(150×1011)=1.35×102

Hence 1.35×102 is the desired fractional compression of water at the bottom of the ocean.
