Solution

Semicircular canals:

  1. There are three semicircular canals in each ear which occur at right angles to each other.
  2. They are called the vestibular organs along with the sacculus and utriculus.
  3. They are found behind the vestibule of the middle ear.
  4. The liquid inside the ampulla of the semicircular canals moves with respect to the movement of the head.
  5. The liquid movement is transduced by the hair cells of the semicircular canals into impulses that are transmitted to the brain resulting in the dynamic balancing of the body.
