The correct option is B 18 cm
ΔABC is a right angled triangle.
Area of triangle ABC=40 sq.cm
12×AB×BC=40 ...(1)

Perimeter of triangle ABC=40cm
AB+BC+CA=40 ...(2)

Also, by Pythagoras theorem
AC2=AB2+BC2 ....(3)
From (2), AB+BC=40AC
Squaring both the sides, we get
(AB+BC)2=(40AC)2
AB2+BC2+2AB.BC=1600+AC22×40×AC
AC2+2×80=1600+AC280AC (from 1 and 3)
160=160080AC
AC=18cm

Hence, the hypotenuse is 18 cm.
