The area of a square is 16 cm2. What will be the area of a rectangle whose length is double the side of the square and width is half of the side of the square?
16 cm2
Area of square = side × side = 16 cm2
⇒ side of square = 4 cm
∴ Length of rectangle = 8 cm and breadth = 2 cm
∴ Area of rectangle = 8 × 2 = 16 cm2.
