The area of a trapezium is 400 cm2, the distance between the parallel sides is 16 cm. If one of the parallel sides is 20 cm, find the length of the other side.

Let the length of the other side be 'x’ cm

Area of trapezium =12 (Sum of length of parallel sides) × (Distance between parallel sides)

400 cm2 = =12 (20 +x) × 16 cm

400=8×(20+x)

50=20+x

x=5020=30 cm
