The area of a trapezium is 720cm2. The ratio of the parallel sides is 2:1. If the distance between the parallel sides is 20cm then find the length of the parallel sides.

The correct option is B 24,48cm
Let length of parallel side=2x and x ( they are in ratio 2:1)
Area of tapezium =12×h(a+b)=720cm2 (where h=20cm given)
=12×20(2x+x)=720
=10(2x+x)=720
30x=720
x=24
Hence the length of the parallel sides =24cm and 48cm
