The area of a trapezium is $90$ sq.cm and its height is $6$cm. If one of the parallel sides is twice that of the others. Find the length of two parallel sides.

Let the length of the smaller parallel side $=x$ cm

Then the length of the other parallel side $=2x$ cm

Area of trapezium$=\frac{1}{2}\times$Sum of parallel sides$\times$height

$\Rightarrow 90=\frac{1}{2}\times (x+2x)\times 6$

$\Rightarrow 90=3x\times 3$

$\Rightarrow 90=9x$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{90}{9}=10$

$\therefore x=10cm$

Hence the length of the two sides are $10cm,20cm$
