The area of a trapezium shaped field is $480m^2$ , the distance between two parallel sides is 15 m and one of the parallel side is 20 m. Find the other parallel side

Let ABCD be a trapezium with parallel sides AB and CD

Let AB = 20 m....... (Given) and CD = $x$

Area (ABCD) $=480m^2$, height (h) $=15m$.......... (Given)

$\text{We know that,}Area\left(ABCD\right)=\frac{1}{2}(AB+CD)\times h$

$\Rightarrow 480m^2=\frac{1}{2}(20+x)\times 15$

$\Rightarrow \frac{2\times 480}{15}=20+x$

$\Rightarrow 64=20+x$

$\Rightarrow x=44$

Hence, length of other parallel side CD is 44 m.
