The area of each square in the given figure is 4 cm2. The perimeter of the whole figure is ___.

Area of the square = side × side
side × side = 4 cm2
side = 2 cm.
Now, looking at the figure we can say that:
Length of the bigger square = 4 × 2 cm = 8 cm
And breadth of the bigger square = 4 × 2 cm = 8 cm
Perimeter of the bigger square = 4 × side = 4 ×8 = 32 cm.
