Solution

Find the area of the region B:

Let the length and breadth of the rectangular region A be x and y respectively.

So, the area of rectangular region A =x×y

=xy

Now, according to the question ;

Area of rectangular region =440sqm

xy=440------(1)

Now, Since length and breadth of rectangular region B is half of the length and breadth of rectangular region A.

So, length and breadth of rectangular region B will be x2and y2

So, area of rectangular region =x2×y2

=xy4

=4404=110sqm.

Hence, the area of the region B is 110m2.
