In rhombus ABCD,

Area(ABCD)=A(DAB)+A(BCD) ........ (i)

A(DAB)=12×BD×AO and

A(BCD)=12×BD×OC

Let AC=d1,BD=d2

From (i),

A(ABCD)=(12×BD×AO)+(12×BD×OC)

=12×BD(AO+OC)

=12×BD×AC

Hence, Area of rhombus ABCD is d1×d22.
