The correct option is A 12
In rectangle ABCD
Given One side = 4 cm so let AB =4 cm
Diagonal is 5 cm so AD = 5 cm
Now we know that triangle ABCD is a right angled triangle so
AB2 + BD2 = AD2 (By pathagoras theoram )
Solving this equation we get BD = 3 cm
Area of rectangle = Base x height
4 x 3
=12 cm2
So the correct answer is the option B
