The Area of trapezium is 16 cm2. Length of one parallel side is 5 cm and distance between two parallel sides is 4 cm. Find the length of the other parallel side.

Given area of trapezium is 16 cm2.
Also given one parallel side is 5 cm and the distance between the parallel sides is equal to 4 cm.
Let the other side be of a cm.

Area of trapezium=12×Sum of parallel sides×Distance between them.

Substituting the values, we get

12×(a+5)×4=16
a+5=8
a=3.
Length of the other parallel side is 3 cm.
