Let the area of smaller triangle be 8x and the area of the bigger triangle be 12x

According to the question 8x = 12x - 20

$\Rightarrow$ 12x - 8x = 20

$\Rightarrow$ 4x = 20

$\Rightarrow$ x = $\frac{20}{4}$ = 5

$\therefore$ Area of the bigger triangle = 12x = 12 $\times$ 5 = $60c{m}^2$
