The artificial method of treating the blood for removing the nitrogenous waste from it is known as____.
Hemodialysis
In hemodialysis, blood is passed out through multiple tubes made of semipermeable membrane. These tubes are immersed in a dialyzing liquid which has the same osmotic pressure as blood but is devoid of nitrogenous wastes. The patient’s blood is passed through these tubes. During this passage, the waste products from the blood pass into dialysing fluid by diffusion and the purified blood is pumped back into the body.
