Average of 12 students = Sum of the ages of 12 students12
16=S1212
S12=16×12
Given: x =12+S12+x13
S12+x13=x12
S12+x=13x12×13
12×16+x=13x12×13
12×16+12×13=13xx
12(16+13)=12x
x=29 years
Thus, the age of 13th student is 29 years.
