Ages 3 years ago :

Rakesh : y - 3
Saurav : z - 3
(x-3) + (y-3) + (z-3) = $27\times 3$
x + y + z - 9 = 81
x + y + z = 90 ................(i)
Ages 5 years ago
Sonia : x-5
Rakesh: y-5
Saurav: z-5
Average ages of Rakesh and Saurav 5 years ago was 20 years.
(y - 5) + (z - 5) = $20\times 2$
y + z - 10 = 40
y + z = 50 ....................(ii)
substuting (ii) in (i)
we get x = 40 years
