Let the percentage of the isotope X816 be A% and the percentage of the isotope X818 be (100-A)%.

Therefore,

16×A100+18×100-A100=16.21800-2A=1620A=90%ofX816=A%=90%%ofX818=(100-A)%=10%

Hence, the percentage of the isotopes X816 and X818 in the sample are 90% and 10% respectively.
