Solution

The correct option is A 4250
Difference in earning in July from Jan = Rs. 1500 - Rs. 1200 = Rs. 300
So, increase in average = 3006 = Rs. 50
(\therefore\) Average earning from Feb to July = Rs 4200 + Rs. 50 = Rs. 4250

Conventional Approach:
Total exp. Jan - June =4200×6=Rs.25200
Total exp. Feb - June =252001200=Rs.24000
Total exp. Feb - July =24000+1500=Rs.25500
The average expenditure Feb - July =255006=4250
