Solution

The correct option is C 63.67
The formula to calculate the weighted average is,

Weighted Average=(w1×n1)+(w2×n2)++(wl×nl)w1+w2++wl,

where w1,w2,wl are the weighted factors and n1,n2,nl are the data points.

The given data can be represented in tabular form as,

Here, the weighted factors are the number of students , i.e., w1=2, w2=2 and w3=2 and their corresponding average marks n1=62, n2=65 and n3=64 are the data points.

Substitute the given values in the formula of weighted average to calculate the average marks of Smith, Max, and Ellen.

Required average marks=(2×62)+(2×65)+(2×64)2+2+2=124+130+1286=3826=63.67

Hence, the average marks of all three of them is 63.67

So, option (c) is correct.
