Solution

The correct option is C 50
Average is the sum of the data values divided by the total number of data values.

Let the 11 numbers be x1,x2,x3,x4,x5,x6,x7,x8,x9,x10,x11

Given that average of first 6 numbers is 34

34=x1+x2+x3+x4+x5+x66

x1+x2+x3+x4+x5+x6=34×6=204 ------(1)

Given that average of last 6 numbers is 33

33=x6+x7+x8+x9+x10+x116

x6+x7+x8+x9+x10+x11=33×6=198

x7+x8+x9+x10+x11=198x6------(2)

Given that average of all the 11 numbers is 32

32=x1+x2+x3+x4+x5+x6+x7+x8+x9+x10+x1111 ------(3)

substituting (1) and (2) in (3) we get

32=204+198x611

402x6=352

x6=402352=50

Therefore, the sixth number is 50
