The average of $5$ numbers is $40$ .
$∴$ The total value of $5$ numbers $= 5 \times 40 = 200$
Average of first $2$ numbers is $25$ and last two numbers is $45$ .
$∴$ Total value of $4$ numbers $= (2 \times 25) + (2 \times 45) = 50 + 90 = 140$
$∴$ Required number $= 200 - 140 = 60$
