Given, the average of three numbers is 60.
Let the three numbers be a1,a2,a3.

Therefore, average = a1+a2+a33

a1+a2+a33=60

a1+a2+a3=60×3=180 ———(1).

Given that first term is (14)th of the sum of the other two.

a1=14(a2+a3)

a2+a3=4a1 ——-(2).

Substituting (2) in (1), we get,

a1+4a1=180

5a1=180a1=1805=36.

Therefore, the first number is 36.

Hence, option 36 is correct.
