The average of x numbers is y. Out of these numbers one number is 10. What will be the average of the remaining numbers,if 10 is omitted from the group of numbers?

The average of x numbers = y
So the sum of the x numbers= x * y
If 10 is omitted from the group of numbers, the sum =( x* y )- 10
Remaining number of numbers= x - 1
Therefore new average= [(x*y) - 10] / (x-1)
