$a v e r a g e = \frac{S u m o f o b s e r v a t i o n s}{N u m b e r o f o b s e r v a t i o n s} \Rightarrow S u m o f o b s e r v a t i o n s = a v e r a g e \times N u m b e r o f o b s e r v a t i o n s$
So, the sum of runs scored by the first $6$ batsmen $= 35 \times 6 = 210$
Step 2: Find the new sum and the new number of observations.
If two more batsmen join the group who score $52$ runs and $18$ runs each, then
The new sum of runs scored by batsmen $= 210 + 52 + 18 = 280$
and the new number of observations will be $6 + 2 = 8$
Step 3: Find the new average.
$a v e r a g e = \frac{S u m o f o b s e r v a t i o n s}{N u m b e r o f o b s e r v a t i o n s}$
