Let the temperatures on day 1 and 5 be 7x and 8x, and the temperatures on day 2, 3 and 4 be a, b and c.
Sum total of temperatures observed in the first 4 days $=4\times 58=7x+a+b+c=232$
Sum total of temperatures observed from day 2 to 5 $=4\times 60=a+b+c+8x=240$
From the two equations above, we get x = 8
Therefore, temperature on day $5=8x=8\times 8={64}^{\circ }$
