Since the ball is released from rest from top of the vessel, the distance between the point of zero velocity and equilibrium position, i.e., h02 becomes the amplitude of the simple harmonic motion with time period 2s.
  • The bottom of the vessel is at a distance of h02 from the equilibrium position=Amplitude.Thus it is another extremum position.
  • Hence time taken is half the time period=1s.
