The base a right-angled triangle measures 48 cm and its hypotenuse measures 50 cm. Find the area of the triangle.
By using Pythagoras theorem,
H2=P2+B2
502=P2+482
P= √(2500−2304)
P = √(196)
P = 14cm.
Area of triangle= 0.5 × Base × Perpendicular
= 0.5 × 48 × 14
=24 × 14
=336 cm2
