The base and the corresponding altitude of a parallelogram are 35cm and 42cm respectively. If the other altitudes is 30cm, find the length of the other pair of parallel sides.

We know
Area of parallelogram = Base × Height
The other parallel line will act as base for the other altitude.
Let, the other base be 'x'
So, using the formula for area of parallelogram for each base and altitude at a time, we get:
35×42=x×30
x=35×4230
x=49cm
Therefore, length of the other pair of parallel sides is 49 cm.
