Area of base of conical tent,πr2=616sq.cm

Height of conical tent, h=48cm

Amount of canvas required to make the conical tent=?

Total surface are of cone=πr(r+l)

l=r2+h2

Step 2: Calculating the amount of canvas required

πr2=616227×r2=616r2=616×722=196r=14cm

Calculating the slant height, l of the conical tent-

l=r2+h2l=142+482=196+2304=2500l=50cm

We know that, the amount of canvas required to make the conical tent will be equal to its total surface area.

Thus, Total surface area of conical tent is given as,

πr(r+l)=227×14(14+50)=22×2(64)=2816cm2

Hence, option A is correct.
