Solution

The correct option is A Cuddles’
Let us find which family has more nuts.

The Bearisters family
Number of packets =4
Nuts in each pack =19
Total number of nuts =Number of packets×Nuts in each pack
=19×4
19×4 means 4 lots of 19. We know that 19=10+9.
Hence, 4 lots of 19 means 4 lots of 10 and 4 lots of 9.

Let us represent this using rods and blocks.

Total number of nuts = 76 nuts
Cuddles’ family

Number of packets =6
Nuts in each packets =13
Total number of nuts = Number of packets×Nuts in each packet
=13×6
13×6 means 6 lots of 13. We know that 13=10+3.
Hence, 6 lots of 13 means 6 lots of 10 and 6 lots of 3.

Let us represent this using rods and blocks.

Total number of nuts = 78 nuts
Let us compare the amount of snacks they have.

78 nuts > 76 nuts
Cuddles’ family takes more quantity of nuts than the Bearisters family.

Hence, option B is the correct answer.
