Bonds of sympathy and love transcend boundaries. Such bonds can be formed not only between fellow human beings but also between those belonging to different species as is shown by the sparrows towards the grandmother. They felt her absence and mourned her loss. Animals can also feel pain and loss and that is something which makes love and emotions universal.
