The breadth of a room is twice its height, one half of its length and the volume of the room is 512 dm3. Find its dimensions
Let breadth of a room (b)=x
Then height (h)=x2
and length (l)=2x
Now, Volume of the room =length×breadth×height=2x×x×x2=x3
Volume of the room is given as 512 dm3.
⇒ x3=512
⇒ x3=83
⇒ x=8
∴ Length =2x=2×8=16 dm
Breadth =x=8 dm
and height =x2=82=4 dm
