Area of the cake = Length × Width
= $50\times 40$
= 2000 square inches

If we divide it into 20 equal pieces (Jane + 19 of her friends).
The area of each piece = $2000÷20$
= 100 square inches

If we divide the cake into 25 equal pieces,
The area of each piece = $2000÷25$
= 80 square inches

The area reduces by 100 - 80 = 20 square inches.
