Reference electrode:-Calomel is one of the most convenient secondary electrodes. The electrode whose potential is arbritarily fixed to a certain value or if it is exactly known as reference electrode.
In Calomel electrode:- A small amount of Mercury is placed at the bottom of the broad tube.
It is then covered with a saturated paste of Mercurous Chloride(Hg2Cl2) and mercury.
