The capacity of a cuboidal tank is 50000litres of water. Find the breadth of the tank, if its length and depth are respectively 2.5m and 10m.

Finding the breadth of the tank

Given that,

Length of the cuboidal tank,l=2.5m

Height of cuboidal tank,h=10m

The volume of the cuboidal tank =50000litres

We know that, Formula for the volume of a cuboid =l×b×h

So, the volume of the cuboidal tank =2.5×b×10=25bm3

We know that

1m3=1000Litres

The capacity of the tank =25b×1000=25000bLitres

Also, the capacity of a cuboidal tank is 50000litresof water (Given)

Therefore, 25000b=50000

b=2

Hence, The breadth of the given cuboidal tank=2m
