Diuretics are the category of drug which causes the kidneys to produce more urine. Causes of excessive urine are -

• Bladder infections - This is the most common cause in women as well as children
• Stones in the urinary tract

Diuresis is a condition in which the kidneys filter too much bodily fluid. That increases urine production and the frequency with which we need to use the bathroom.
