The cell becomes
When a plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, water inside the cell (highest concentration) moves out of the cell (lowest concentration), causing the plant cell to shrink. Turgidity is the character exhibited by the cell placed in a hypertonic solution. Entry of water makes the cells swollen which is known as turgidity resulting from the process of endosmosis. Flaccid is the character of the cell to be weak and soft without any force. The plant cell shrinks because there is a loss of turgor pressure.
