The cells that conduct messages towards the brain are the
sensory neurons
When a stimulus is perceived by the sense organs, it is sent for processing to the brain or the spinal cord via the sensory neuron. Once it is interpreted in the central nervous system, the impulse passes through the interneuron to the motor neuron which passes on the impulse to the effector organ to bring about the response.
