Solution

The correct option is B 24
Equivalent capacitance of top right branch in which 1 μF and 5 μF are in parallel will be

Ceq=5+1=6 μF

Since, 4 μF and 6 μF are in series, so effective capacitance of these two capacitors will be

Ceq=4 μF×6 μF4 μF+6 μF=2.4 μF

And voltage across the 2.4 μF capacitor will be 10V. So charge Q on 2.4 μF will be

Q=CeqV=2.4 μF×10 V=24 μC

Here, whatever charge this equivalent capacitance will have, the same charge will be across the 4μF capacitor as well as the equivalent of 1μF and 5μF which is 6 μF.

So, Charge on 4μF capacitor is Q=24μC.

Hence, option (b) is correct.
