Paramecium is unicellular, free-living protozoa. It is completely covered with tiny, hair-like projections called cilia which beat rhythmically to propel them. They arise by penetrating the pellicle from basal bodies located within the ectoplasm of the cell. They are moderate and fairly uniform in length but at the posterior end, cilia are quite longer called as caudal tuft. Caudal tuft is tactile in nature. Thus, the correct answer is option C.
