Question

The circumference of the circle of the triangle formed by x axis,y axis and graph of 3x+4y=12

Open in App
Solution

AT X=0;4Y=12;Y=3
AT Y=0;3X=12;X=4
SO LINE MEETS X AXIS AT 3 UNITS AND Y AXIS AT 4 UNITS
BASE=3
HEIGHT=4
HYPOTENUSE=5 UNITS
FOR A CIRCLE CIRCUMSCRIBING TRAINGLE WE HAVE TO FIND ITS CIRCUMFERENCE
SO FIRST FIND ITS RADIUS
CIRCUM DIAMETER OF A RIGHT TRAINGLE IS ITS HYPOTENUSE(CIRCUM CENTER IS MIDPOINT OF HYPOTENUSE)
SO DIAMETER=5 UNITS
RADIUS=2.5 UNITS
CIRCUMFERENCE=2*Pi*R
=2*Pi*2.5
=5Pi
=5*3.14
=15.7 units
