Solution

Instructions:
The focus needs to be kept on how cold war led to increased tensions between the NATO and WARSAW pact countries. Emphasis on arms race, military pacts and use of media to propagate a given ideology.

Solution:
Yes, the Cold War was a struggle for power and ideology between the USA and USSR because:

1. The Cold War led to use of media and other mass communication methods to propagate either communist or capitalist ideologies. This led to a sense of blame game and mis trust between countries.

2. Each bloc maintained their own military alliances in the form of NATO or Warsaw Pact. These pacts were formed on the basis of ideologies and geographical securities.

3. Even though no weapons were fired, the cold war saw both the sides create and produce deadly nuclear weapons and other arms leading to tensions of another major war during the time.
