Question

The color of the shadow formed by a brown colored table is black. If we paint the table with white color, will the color of the shadow change? Explain.

Solution

Shadows are formed when an opaque object blocks the path of light rays.

No matter what the colour of the object is, shadows will always be black. Perfect black colour basically means absence of light.

Therefore, the shadow color is always black for every opaque object.
