C A current will flow from A to D in AD in closed loop
D The current in AD flows from lower to higher potential

Therefore inside the rod, the electric field will have the direction from A to D.
Therefore negatively charged electron will move towards A.
This will cause the potential of A to decrease with respect to D.
Positive charge will flow from A to D along the electric field. So the direction of current in AD in closed loop is from A to D.
As D is at a higher potential, current in AD flows from lower(A) to higher potential(D)
