(i) They were Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandrapal. They were popularly known as 'Lal-Pal-Bal'.
(ii) They represented the militant section of the Congress.
(iii) (a) They believed that Indians themselves must work out their own salvation and make the effort to rise from the degraded position.
(b) They declared that great sacrifices and sufferings were needed for this task.
