Solution

The correct option is D blocks estrogen receptors in the uterus, preventing eggs from getting implanted.

SAHELI :
Saheli is an oral non-steroidal contraceptive pill containing ormeloxifene as its active ingredient. It is a once-a-week pill. It contains a subtle mix of estrogenic and anti-estrogenic action which prevents ovulation and thus pregnancy. It acts on a specific estrogen receptor in the uterus and blocks it. This prevents the estrogen from binding to its receptor in the uterus, subsequently inhibiting the implantation of the egg.

Final answer :

(a) blocks estrogen receptors in the uterus, preventing eggs from getting implanted.
